The focal flower of this design is the Cactus Dahlia, using an original dimensional embroidery stitch by Rosalie Wakefield, The Comma. Just by changing the dark or the light color, or by how you position the stitch, you’ll have an entirely different flower.
The smaller side flower, the Dianthus, is stitched with The Nibble, and an alternate technique – a new idea – for substituting a smaller Collarette Dahlia is included so the stitcher can select the flower they like best. The MilleFlower and another application for The Comma finish the “Sophisticates” design.
Wearable art, bracelet or cuff, or small framed print – this design and two additional “Wear Your Heart” designs, each sold separately, are available in .pdf file format only with full-color instructions and traceable pattern for transferring to the fabric of your choice. A stitch guide and finishing suggestions are included with all Millefiori designs. This is an intermediate-advanced level Brazilian embroidery design.
